2021 General Recycling Program for Taoyuan City

During the plan execution period (February 1, 2021~December 15, 2021), the executive agencies’ strengthening of recycling performance assessment work promoted by the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) was conducted. Currently, 88.51 points have been obtained, with the recycling rate of 65.25%;in the collection of county and city outstanding practices, this city has collected 73 entries, and other counties and cities have collected 79 entries. For the district squadron assessment operations, one session of education training on district squadron recycling performance assessment was conducted on March 8. Three sessions of data inspection were conducted in April, July, and November. In terms of subsidies for community and building recycling facilities, 40 units filed an application. After counseling and review, 30 units received subsidies. In addition to environmental beautification, the setup of recycling facilities was strengthened. In terms of recycling education websites, a handover with the Department of Environmental Protection, Taoyuan-Waste Management Section was conducted on March 5, and assistance continued to be offered to update recycling education website-related information. This city’s environmental protection-related news was compiled, a total of 62 entries renew. In terms of fishing port and resource advocacy activities, 20 sessions of advocacies on recycling via fishing port media vehicles were completed. 44sessions of Yongan Fishing Port and Zhuwei Fishing Port recycling station advocacy/exchange activities were held, with 2,379 participants and 23 recycling redeemers, 372.56 kg of recycled items, and 22 sessions of fishing port recycling facility maintenance status inspection; 18 sessions of recycling advocacy activities co-conducted by enterprises, shopping malls, schools, new residents, and large events were held, with 1,272 participants. In terms of inter-school recycling competitions, with the university, college, senior high school, and vocational high school competitions combined with the winning units in the 2020 volunteer teams engaged in recycling work performance evaluations, two sessions of university, college, senior high school, and vocational high school recycling field benchmark learning activities were held. On May 3, the Guidelines for 2021 Senior High School, Vocational High School, University, and College Recycling Inter-school Competitions were released. The evaluation results of the competitions were completed on November 18. For on-campus used dry cell recycling and information items competitions, 92 elementary and junior high schools signed up, with a total of 5,638.2kg dry cells, 87 portable computers, 82 tablet PCs, and 587 keyboards recovered. In terms of highlights and innovative practices, in conjunction with the waste information item recovery activity conducted by NOVA, the general public was invited to recycle their waste information items and redeem additional waste information items in focus. From April to October, a total of 434 notebook computers, 1016mobile phones, 152 tablet PCs, 156kg of batteries, and a cumulative 3,437 packs of toilet paper were redeemed. Counseling and improvement were carried out in six locations of tourism attraction (factory) recycling facilities. In terms of other compliance matters, in coordination with the EPA’s assessment operations, assistance was provided to the squadrons regarding the submission of the Estimated List of Community and Building Counseling and Listing, the Q1 and Q2 Port Recycling Survey Summary Table, the 2021 Initial Assessment Plan, and the result reports from the recycling stations at commercial, fishing, and recreational ports, passenger bus terminals, and river (sea) shore recreational sites for the first and second half of the year; The squadrons were also assisted in conducting and completing the 2020 EPA Review Meeting, in compiling the results of the collection and clearance of pesticide waste containers and waste packages in Fuxing District for the first and second half of the year.
